Camera Screen replacement for 04 Seabreeze

I'm having issues with my backup camera staying lit up enough to see. I can give it a tap and it is visible.. but it will short back out. I'm not too familiar with the camera system. My question is can you buy a new display and keep using the same camera or do you have to run new wires and replace the whole thing?

On my coach, the Camera, Monitor and wiring are independent units.....they all plug together but can be replaced separately. If the plugs/receptacles are different just re-wire them. Rook

About a year ago I got a complete system on e-bay for under $100.00. I am very happy with it.

Go to "Costco online" and type "rear view safety" in the search area. I installed one of these systems about 5 years ago. No issues and still works great. I leave the camera on all the time as my rear view mirror. 90000 miles, and not one hiccup.

Our 2006 Seabreeze has the same problem. We replaced the camera but still goes off and on without any reason. We are thinking loose wire somewhere

I had the same problem on my 2003 Tropi-Cal and found the power plug on the back of the monitor was slightly melted. Pulled the wiring harness to the side to apply a little pressure and stuck on a piece of Gorilla tape to keep tension on it. I realize it's a ghetto short-term fix, but it has been working ever since.

Hope that helps.

It's a composite video monitor. Any monitor with a CATV input will work. You may or may not have a color camera but it won't matter. Here is a picture of what you will find in the cable on the monitor end.

This one would work fine.
Robot Check
The biggest problem is getting it mounted so it doesn't look like a redneck patch.

As mentioned earlier, RV cams Inc. set me up nicely. All l needed was new harness for about $50. I sent them the monitor to make sure it was good, Chuck called and said it was fine and probably need new harness. Bought the parts and it works great.

I also did business with RVcams.com because of recommendations by this forum. I shipped them my monitor and it was bad. I could have re-used my old camera and had a black and white picture, but I opted for the new color camera. BIG difference in the picture. Much brighter and clearer. Glad I made the investment. I don't like being without a backup camera.
