Cleaning a ceiling

Does anyone have a solution for what to use when cleaning a ceiling. We have a 2003 National Dolphin and there are some water stains around one of the roof vents. The material feels like a felt or a fuzzy cloth type material. It is a light color. I think I read somewhere that using a mixture of Peroxide and water would work but cannot locate the source of the article.

Hi JD,

Here are some threads discussing your situation:

There are a lot more threads. I just used the word Peroxide in the Search.

Good luck!

Carpet Cleaner

I have used a carpet cleaner, upholstery attachment to successfully remove these stains. Rug Doctor standard cleaning solution and hot water worked great for me.

I have used water in a spray bottle with a small amount of bleach added.

Cloth Ceiling Stain Remover

Ingredient - Large - Medium - Small
----------------------------------------------

Vinegar - 32oz - 16oz - 8oz

Club Soda - 32oz - 16oz - 8oz

Bleach, color safe - 8oz - 4oz - 2oz

Warm Water - 64oz - 32oz - 16oz

This mixture has no shelf life (2 day max.)
It must be mixed on an “as needed” basis.

The club soda needs to be fresh; still strongly carbonated. This mixture will not work if there is no fizz in the soda.

Simply spray this mixture on the ceiling and let dry; it will dissolve and disperse the stain.

Depending on the severity of the stain, you may need to reapply multiple times.
Allow the formula to work (dry) before reapplication to prevent saturation of the ceiling material and wood substructure.
