We have a 99 tradeswind and we recently had a roof leak which we had fixed. However, this leak left stains on the fabric on the ceiling. Has anyone had this experience and how do you get the stains off. I have tried different methods that didn't work and someone told me that even tho it looks like carpet, you can't use carpet cleaner on it. true? Any feedback is appreciated as it looks awful.

Is the ceiling fabric polyester? White with a bit of nap? If so, you can spray a 50-50 mix of bleach and water on it. (cover floor). Let it sit for a day or more until dry and see what's what.

You can repeat a couple of times. Don't blot or rub. Let it be.

Do you know exactly what type fabric you have?

We have had great success using a cleaner from one of the dollar type stores. This one is called American Value Kitchen & Bath Cleaner with bleach. It comes in a spray bottle and I just sprayed it on, let it sit for a few minutes and I did rub it with a white rag or paper towel. You may have to repeat a few times but it worked great and removed every bit of the stain. If you are worried about using a product, try it in an inconspicuous place to see what it does.

Try Oxyclean in a spray bottle and let dry.

So what is the consensus insofar as the exact material in the ceiling? I see some small stains in our new-to-us 2003 Dolphin. It appears close to the ceiling material in our old Sightseer 27C, but I am not sure. We used a 50/50 mix of bleach and water.

Nothing in Owner's Manual specific under "Ceiling Fabric Care." Only"....frequent vacuuming.... and use Woolite Carpet Cleaner or Chem-Dry (or equivalent)"

Dolphin literature says "soft ceiling fabric material"

If it's a cloth type of material I wouldn't use Bleach. I'd go with a mild cleaner and Oxy-Clean. Bleach is going to do damage for sure.

I get a new Resolve with Oxyclean in it. It works great. Just use like a stiff bristle vegie brush, spray on, scrub and lt dry and can vac but seems OK without vac.

Scooter, thank you for the tip. It worked like a charm, and it was a simple task.
