cold air through floor vent
Why does cold air come up through the vent between the 2 front seats whenever it is very cold outside and the furnace is on?
Is there a way to stop the cold air from coming through?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I have the same issue, the problem is air flow through the dash heater/ A/C housing. Some units can stop the air flow by setting the system to re-circulate; BUT; most systems will not stay on re-circ, once the key/engine is off.
Once parked in cold weather, I tape over the fresh air inlets on my dash heater system. The inlets are the bottom openings in this picture, about 3" X 5".
As part of my summer projects I plan to make air filters that go on with Velcro and an insulated solid pad to block off the openings for quicker installation.

I am talking about the one on the floor between the seats.
It looks like a floor vent you would have in your house.

It sounds like a furnace duct tube may have come off, either at the furnace or, more likely, at the duct on the floor between the front seats.

Remove the two screws and the grill. Take a small mirror and flashlight, look into the duct opening. I did this and found there were no ducting at all.
Remedy : Insert a piece of foam.

I believe I have the answer to my own question when using the furnace or using this cook stove you need the oxygen intake. So I'll bet that is supposed to be the intake that allows oxygen to come into the cabin and no one will become Xfixated. I will have to check the dimensions but I believe I can put a standard vent with a shut off in this place.

You may want to check a little further, and find the hose that should be connected to that vent. Since that vent is the closest to the front of the coach, it does a lot to keep the coach warm in cold weather. The front of the coach gets the coldest because of the windshield, and other uninsulated areas. I'm sure that if you look a little closer, you will find the hose. It has to be there.

Does it blow cold only when the furnace starts blowing and then warm up in a few minutes or does it continue to blow cold until the blower stops?

A RV propane furnace uses only out side air for combustion... and it only exhausts it to the outside .
It uses no air from the inside of the cabin... (nor does it contaminate the inside air).

My RV is out of my hands for the next week or two, but there has to be someone that has the same RV as I do with the same floor vent.
So can someone with the same model help to answer this question.
Thanks

Dale, there's not much difference between models concerning the heating. Everything everyone said above is true. With the furnace on and blowing you should have warm air coming out all inside floor vents. Have you taken the suggestion of looking down the vent with a mirror? That would be the first step to take.
