Unhappy Convertor Switch

Hello All.
Am a new member and need some help on a 2004 Sea Breeze 8321LX at the main entry at the left. I have a panel for steps, compartment, lights, battery, porch and Disc connect. Just below that pane I have switch marked as inverter. What is the propose of the switch and should it be on or off with shore power.

If it's an inverter/charger, it should be on. If it's just an inverter to provide 120 v AC power when not on shore power or generator, leave it off. You'll need to track down the inverter and see what outlets it's hooked up to.

On the 2004 it appears that it was equipped with a converter /charger, on the 8321 model it also has a small stand alone inverter to produce 120 volts AC when needed.

The bottom line is when connected to shore power the inverter should be off.

To save your batteries it should be off.

Inverters come in 3x2xN types

FIrst the 2, since this does not apply. MSW (modified sine wave) or TSW/PSW (true or pure sine wave) Does not matter for this post but included for completness.

Now the N Also does not matter but incoluded for completness.. SIZE 150 watt, 300 600, 1000 2000 3000 other sizes, many other sizes)

Finally the big 3 important to this post:

In-line Inverter charger
IN-line inverter only
Stand alone

The first two, Leave them on full time when camping, The first, doubles as a battery charger when shore/generator power is present so if there is a single switch ON is the word for it (I have multiple (3) Switches, the "Big Switch" has to be on, the other two control sub-modules)

The 2nd, does not charge, but again leave it on, With both of these if shore/generator power is present, power is PASSED to the load and the inverter goes into STANDBY but if power is lost, like a UPS on a computer the Inverter takes over (in fact that is what a UPS is, an Inverter/charger with battery)

The third type you only turn on when needed.

The OP, in a private message, responded to me that he has an inverter/charger, so he will leave it on.
