is your compressor running when you turn on the ac? Should be able to hear it click when you turn on ac. If not, $$$$. If it is then the next thing I would check is the heater valve (should be attached to heater hose). Is it working? You should be able to feel the hoses after it warms up to tell if the valve is letting hot water into your heater core and warming your ac cold air. This is a common failure and many people just replace the value with a cheap hand valve. "On" in the winter and "off" in the summer. Another thing I would check is the heater hose configuration. On my 2001 dolphin the heater hoses were backwards allowing hot water to make its way to heater core when ac is on. once hoses installed correctly, out of engine direct to heater valve then to heater core the ac was like a freezer. Its not hard to replace heater hoses incorrectly. Good luck with your trouble shooting and I'm sure someone here will be able to help you trouble shoot if my advise does not work.

You need to find the leak first and then repair it. Then recharge it. Based on the repair you may have to evacuate the system with a vacuum pump before you recharge it.

As for the cost, it all depends on how much work is required. A/C techs, generally charge about $100.00 per hour.

Send a message via Skype™ to JJH3rd
Also ask the A/C repairman to check for water (moisture) in the system - before replacing the compressor.
