Dash warning Lights

Hello all,
I posted this on the main forum also but no responses yet. Have a 1998 Tradewinds and my engine light came on along with Temp warning light and at one point the oil light came on. All the dash gauges where reading in the normal positions and not in the red areas. Stoped by a friegth liner place and had the entire cooling system flused and steamed cleaned the radiator and all new ant-freeze put in along with an oil change and fliter. Left there and was hitting some steep grades and bingo same thing happened, engine light came on the temp so pulled into rest area and just before stopping the oil light came on the gauges where still reading in the safe area but a little closer to the red zone. At the rest area checked the oil it was full checked the radiator fill container and it was fine also. This only occured on a incline.

Thanks in advance.
Bill

You did not say whether you have a CAT or Cummins engine. I would suggest calling the the Engine Dealer and ask them if the engine computer would have recorded such an event if there was a problem. If the warning lights came on and the event was real, there should be a record in the engine computer. I am surprised that Freightliner did not read the computer.

It's a 300 Cat, and yes I was kind of wondering why the computer check was not done but was under the impression it was. But after telling them about the different lights comeing on it supprized me that they did not check, so if anyone is in the Kingman, Az area would not advise stopping at Great West unless you spell out your problem then the might assit further. We did stop again in Ogdan, UT and went to Ogden Diesel and he did put it on the computerand found some thing out and hopefully now everything will be ok. I highly reccomand Ogden Diesel they are right off I-15, exit 343. A very good bunch of people who will realy work to help fix your problem.

Thanks again,

Bill
