I have a 2004 Sea Breeze and need to repair a day/nite shade. There are several instructions avaialble on the internet, but I can't figure out how to remove the shade to get to it for repair.

Anyone done that on the type of shade used by National?

Thanks !

Just remove the cloth covered wood valance around the window. A few screws on the top of the valance, going into the storage cabinets, and the screws holding the valance to the wall. The whole assembly comes right off.

You are lucky. On my last mh I had to lean backwards and look up into the valence and remove screws. That was a real physical pain.

I just did a couple. Look up the shade to the top of the valence unit inside the top decorative frame. There should be 2 or 3 drywall screws between the shade header and that frame into the ceiling or cabinet. Then there is usually one L-bracket on each side to attach the valence side to the wall. You will need an extended Phillips driver.
I just restrung the 2 largest (living/dining) shades. I ran out of the braided nylon cord I used before, so I tried 30 lb. mono-filament fishing line. So far, so good. Sure is a lot easier to operate the shades once I got the spring tension right and the mono is almost invisible. At $2.50 for 250 yards, reasonable too. I would have tried the braided nylon casting line, but it only came in green.
