Close to signing deal on 05 seabreeze lx 8360 36ft. Can anyone tell us if this sounds like a good deal and alert us to any possible issues with this coach. It has these added options, banks exhaust system, tracvision satellite. 1 owner 18,000 miles on workhorse chassis. $59,600. Thanks, Ron & Jan

jpopa,

We have a '05 Dolphin 5355. It's a great MH with a Workhorse Chassis and a Allison tranny. Have it checked out well and deal with the seller for the best price. Let us know here, if you purchase it or have any other questions.

05 Sea Breeze 8360

I just purchased a 2005 Sea Breeze 8360. My wife and I love it. I haven't had any of the issues that you may find on this forum yet, with the exception of water leaks into the basement storage and the wiper problem [won't shut off during a hard rain]. The motorhome seems to be very well built and the workhorse 8.1 runs great. We'll see what happens, but for now, It's great. Let us know what happens with your purchase.

In today's market, I'm sorry to say it is about $15K to $20K too high in price. You will be overpaying! Low retail is $53 and most used gas coaches are going for $10 grand or more below low retail.

I would have the coach weighed prior to signing the deal. It's a big unit for a W22 chassis, the borchure indicates 1,300# CCC, not a lot, but workable.

Here is one on E-Bay with about 6K miles for $55,000.00 and he has not gotten a single bid. What people are asking for others is not a good way to compare prices, because nobody is buying for what they are asking. In reality it is worth in todays market about $45K, keep looking.

It's a shame you don't know what the Dealer gave in "Actual" trade to the last owner. They hide a lot of $$ in the paper work. You can bet the Dealer and the salesman are getting a good $$ on that price.

For a manual, go back to the deal and have him furnish it. When we traded a motorhome, the dealer made a big fuss about having the manual. Next we heard from the new owners was asking for the manual. The dealer had removed it when cleaning the coach and tossed it...talk about less tham smart folks.

gpopa, congratulations on your new rig. I am sure you will have many happy years in it.
I know there has been lots of discussion here about whether you got a good deal or not. There is more to consider than just price. For example if a rig is $2000 less on the other side of the country, it may not be a good deal for you. Also if the dealer is willing to take a boat in trade but the dealer with a cheaper price will not. In the end, you have to decide what works for you and it looks like you found it.

Your New RV

Congrats!! I have a 2005 8360, and was lucky enough to get the owners manual with it. I've been through the manual several times, and it hasn't really helped me in the slightest. The best thing to do is to get your flashlight and go into every nook and cranny in the rv. Find out where everything is located and file it in your memory bank. A schematic for almost all the systems on your 8360 is located in the "files" link on the YahooGroups National RV forum. All of the other manuals and repair information can be found on the individual web sights [RBW, Power Gear,Velvac,etc.]. And when you run into a real head scratcher, this forum is the very best place to go for real solutions to tough problems.

Good Luck

Bill
