No replacing because there isn't much room to work in there without tearing things apart (nightmare scenario & possible fire hazard) just scrape off the rust flakes & treat the metal with a very small brush as best you can given the limited access you will find when you get in there. Once the metal treatment has cured heat the area up with a heat gun to make sure that it is dry & the heat will help with the bonding of the caulk that you put between the metal & panel use some really good sealant " you don't ever want to go in there again & then caulk the back side of the aluminum trim that you removed to gain access to the problem area, use something that you can remove in the future if you ever need to remove the trim again & align the trim piece carefully because the paint graphic needs to align well or it will show then push the trim back in place & screw each end from under using the original screw holes. I put in a screw about every 3 holes to get it in position & then filled in the rest, if you have a water problem in the slide the screws will be rusty & some will break when you try to remove them so if they don't want to come free with a drill put a phillips screw driver in the screw slot & give it a few good whacks with a hammer to free it & if it breaks don't worry just replace it with a new self tap screw when you put it back together because no matter what once you start that trim has to come off in order to complete the task so all screws have to go! once the trim is off & you pull the bottom open again with a putty knife only as much as you need to for access to the rusted metal, you can use a needle nose vise grip to grab any broken screws & get one more opportunity to get them or just break them off & keep going. you can just drill another hole next to the one that broke & put in a new screw when your putting it all back together then I put a 4"X 4"X 6' board under the slide & on the trim but only on the horizontal part that the screws went back into & a floor jack at each end with 2"X4" boards from the jacks up to support the beam & lift the slide up putting the weight on the trim should pretty much close the corner gaps & leave it until your sure that things are dry then lower it & see what you think of my repair method. good luck

I have a different issue that I dont know if it is Delam or factory or ?? On My Eagle in the back 15% of passenger side I can see the metal frame structure on a sunny day. The Fiberglass is solid, no give, looks great, so I am not sure what maybe cosmetic or real issue ??? anyone seen this before??
