It's common for the chassis to be one model year older, and when business is slow I can see it easily stretching to two. Another sometimes problem is mileage on a "brand new" coach.
A workmate of mine had worked as an engineer with Open Road when they were based somewhere near Orlando (middle 1960s). The chassis for their Class A's were driven from Michigan to Florida with a tempoary cab installed which was removed by OR. After the motorhome was completed, it was driven to the dealer's location. If the dealer was on the West coast, the MH could have 6,000 miles on it when the purchaser took delivery.
