Dinette pulled out from slide wall

I have a 2005 Sea Breeze 8360 on a Workhorse chassis. I recently noticed that the forward dinette seat back has pull away from the lounge slide wall. When the lounge slide retracts, the slide seems to sag in the middle and has pulled about four screws out of the slide wall. I thought that there may be a piece of steel or aluminum in the wall for the screws to go in to, but I can't find one with a stud finder. I can't believe that the only thing that these screws are attached to is the inner wood panel of the wall with all the weight that they seem to need to hold.

Am I missing something?

This tool can put Nut Rivets into the side wall. They will be much stronger and a lot less likely to pull out. The second link is for some 1/4 bolts with reasonably low profile heads.
I've had good luck using these to attach stuff to the side walls of my Tradewinds.

Check my Avitar, the ceiling brick-a-brack is held up with them.

Thanks Dick...I'm afraid that if I use something that only anchors into the thin wood panel on the sidewall that it will eventually pull the sidewall away from the foam insulation and delaminate the sidewall.

What do you think?

At least on my Tradewinds there isn't anything else to attach to in a lot of places, including the microwave mounting plate. I just replaces it and couldn't find any structure to attach to. National put twenty screws into the wood panel to attach the 60 lb microwave. It was a little scary so I put 16 of the 1/4 inch nut rivets and then another 16 screws all into the wood panel wall. There just wasn't any other choice. The more you put in the less any one has to support.

So it looks like the answer to your original question, at least from my experiance with a 99 Tradewinds, is no you haven't missed anything.

Dick

Thanks for the replies Dick. That tool from Harbor Frieght looks like something that every motorhome owner should have in his tool box. I think I need one.
