Just wanted to pass on a little project that I think saved me some money. I was in the need for some new displacement pads. Never guess what happened to my old ones. (someone drove off and left them at there last site) Well after pricing a few different types and thinking, what are these made of, precious material or something. I had a though about making my own. I went to Lowes and purchased two 12' lengths of recycled plastic decking. You know the type that you can use instead of real wood to deck your patio. They come in a few different colors. The width of the decking is 8" wide. I was wanting a little wider than that to displace the weight better on soft surfaces. I cut 16 of them 18 inches long. I then layered them two wide and two high while affixing the top layer 90 degrees to the lower level I used Gorilla glue and short stainless steel screws to attach the two layers together. I am very pleased with results. I used them over the weekend at Carolina Beach State Park. The soil there is sandy and they worked great. There footprint held the weight of the MH without sinking into the soft sand. All total I think I have less than 30 dollars into all four of them. Which is what the local RV supply wanted for one of theirs.
