We are looking at a Dolphin LX 03, 23K miles, owner asking 44K. We would really appreciate any pros and cons on this coach. Thank you so much for any advise.

We have owner 3 Dolphins, only traded to get more room. If NRV was still in business, they would be at the top of my list.
I believe if you look at other '03 brands, you will see the NRV differences in fit and finish.

Boy you came to the right place for unbiased opinions on National. We love our Tradewinds and I think that a high percentage of folks here that own Nationals love em. They built a good coach and I feel that quality wise they were the same as Winnebago or Tiffen. It's too bad that poor management put an end to them.

We have a 03 Dolphin L/X 6320. It has been a great coach. We have traveled across the U.S. numerous times and have just over 40,000 miles on it. The coach you're considering is low mileage. The only thing I regret is not getting a bigger coach. The only down side is that the Dolphin L/X is a heavy coach and you'll have to watch how you load it.

We are on our 2nd Dolphin. We had a 1995 model 533 and traded up to a 2005 model 5342. Like most people that have had or do have a National product wish they were still in business. You get a lot of coach for the money.
Good luck ~ Bill

should be no problem, if maintained. National built a good coach.

Hello! this is my first post.
I noticed Antiqueladies query about the Dolphin because I too am looking at purchasing one, a 2002 NAT. dolphin 36' with 51+ miles and a 8.1 vortec engine They are asking $44,500.
I read of a brake recall, any info about these units will be of great help to me, my wife is quite impressed with internal appearance, and I like the overall look although I prefer diesel pushers I must consider this one.
your opinions please!
Donny

I saw an 03 with 30k, also 36' 8.1 excellent condition on sell in Simi Valley RV, I think the price was right about the same. You can't really go wrong, they are an excellent coach. Well built. Read the former posts about the Dolphin and others they will give you lots of great information. You can check with Workhorse to find out if the brake recall had been done, but that is if the coach your looking at is on a Workhorse chassis.

02 blue book is 29k, depending on what is in it and it's condition of course. Miles are pretty high for a full book, price, but remember retail is going to be higher. I saw an 02 online for 42K so 44 is not far off, again depending on condition. How about the tires, they should be new by now.

Thank you one and all.
I am looking very carefully at all my options and you have made things much clearer for me.
that brake business is the type of thing that makes me do my own repairs on all my vehicles.
I am also looking at a 1990 Hawkins, that will need some T.L.C. but I am finding most people are trying to get the most they can and it is difficult to completely check out a unit, but I am trying.
Again.....thanks to all!
DONNY
