Dolphin steps issue

Hi

I have a 2004 Dolphin LX, and my retractable stairs are acting up. When the door closes, the motor only retracts the stairs roughly half way. If I push on them with my foot while retracting they will go all the way up, though. So they aren't hung up anywhere.

The batteries are fully charged, and it acts the same whether on battery, or with the motor running.

I'm kind of out of ideas. Maybe someone here has some input to help?

Thanks
Denny

Try lubricating all pivot point of the steps and of the linkages.

I lubricated my step with some silicone spray and that does the trick..keep the can handy because you'll need to do it fairly often..worked like a charm.

Had this same problem with my 03 Seabreeze last year when I bought it. Didn't find that I could help them along and get them to close all the way until I was putting it away for the winter. Lubed all pivot points with spray white grease and it works like a charm.

I love the easy problems.

If you are parked and leave the steps out buy a small bottle jack and put it under the bottom step. It makes it solid and also keeps wear down and the support bolts.
