I had been watching the Dometic Recall for sometime, and Re-checked my serial number and found it was added. I just had it fixed at CW in Seffer, FL
My Build date was 10/03---Might want to recheck you model and serial number at Dometic.com.

I'd love to know....the actual NUMBER of fires....in relation to the many THOUSANDS of units out there.
Of course, I had the recall done (you'd really be a dummy not to have it taken care of) but even when I called Dometic to verify my numbers, I asked if this was "1 fire out of a million units" and the lady indicated it was. Also found out that this recall (or series of recalls) has no expiration date!

No expiration date due to the fact that this issue is being forced and enforced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I thought most of the recalls were "forced"...but I think I recall some having expiration dates. Maybe not.
Do some have expiration dates and others not?
If so, what's the criteria?

The refrigaeratoir recall is the only one I can remember having no time limit on repairs to be made at no cost to the consumer. Some recalls are not for safety issues but for just better performance or fixes. The ref. recall is for safety and is enforced by the NHTSA. Dometic has voluntarily extended the recall before the NHTSA steps in on these years production.
