I have a 2004 Dolphin with all new batteries, coach and house. It has been sitting for about 3 weeks since I last used it and the chassis battery has gone dead (seems kind of quick). I tried using the emergency boost switch to start the engine but nothing would happen, nothing at all. My house batteries are reading about 12.1 on the meter. I had to charge the chassis battery to get it started. Anyone ever had this problem or any ideas as to why the emergency boost switch would not transfer power to the chassis battery?

Gary

I had a similar experience. Absolutely nothing when I turned the key, not even a click from the starter solonoid even though I later determined the battery was fully charged. The problem was not enough voltage to switch the battery disconnect relay.

On my motorhome the chassis battery disconnect relay is powered from the coach batteries. The coach batteries were too low to switch the relay. Once the coach batteries were up to about 10.5 V the relay switched and the engine started immediately.

In your case I believe it is likely one of your relays had insufficient voltage to switch.

Gary, were you running the generator and how long did you keep the boost switch energized?

I tried running the generator while trying the emergency boost switch and nothing happened.. The coach batteries were about 11.2V Makes sense about the relays. Where might these be located?

Gary, you need to get the coach batteries up to 12.5VDC. The power control panel is located in the compartment just forward of the entrance dooor. The boost relay is located behind the 12 fuse panel from RV Customs, however I am not sure which relay it is.
