Equalizing Batteries

I have a coach w/4 6 v. lead acid house batteries and 2 starting batteries.
I've never equalized the batteries, and i noticed that when I measure the 6 volt batteries, there is a difference between them of a few hundredths of a volt. Should I equalize them w/the inverter? I'm concerned of the high voltage generated and if it will harm any of the 12 volt components in the coach.
Thx, Don

No problem, Don. Do it at night, while you sleep. Takes about 4 hours. Do a 12VDC battery "disconnect" in the coach before you start the process. Make sure your house batteries have adequate water levels. I do it every 6 months. It makes a difference in battery life. Rook

Equalizing wet cell batteries is basically done to de-sulphate the battery plates.

Battery Equalizing

I accomplish that task without having to ever think about it or having to worry about the risks of damaging some sensitive electronics in my coach.

I use 12 VDC Power-Pulse Technology on each battery bank, house and chassis.

Power Pulse Technology

Been like that for 8 years now.

Disclaimer: When coach is in storage you remove one lead of the Power-Pulse from each battery to prevent it from draining your batteries slowly. My coach is never put into storage so I never have to worry about them draining my batteries.

Before I equalize the batteries I can disconnect the coach power to protect the components powered by the house batteries, but what about the chassis side? Won't the equalizing voltage also be sent to the chassis batteries? I'm concerned about the engine/transmission ecm's.
