Filling fresh water tank with pump
I have a 2005 Sea Breeze. Is there any way to fill the fresh water tank from a non pressurized source by using the pump to pull from an external container?

Our two DSDP's have had a hose connected to the pump that is there to put anti-freeze into the system. But it can also be used to fill the water tank. I need to turn a couple valves, put the hose into the water and turn on the pump and that's it.

Yeah, I know how to pull liquid from an external container for winterizing. But there doesn't appear to be a way to set the values to fill the tank when pulling water from an external container?

Our DSDP's have both had a diverter valve that allowed the water to go into the tank or straight into the water system and bypass the tank. Maybe yours doesn't have this?

I use the 12 volt marine pump from Harbor Freight and hook it to the inlet for city
water, works great. Makes sanitizing the water tank and system easy.

So you are using your external pump to simulate a water hookup then? And your external pump has enough force to be able to fill the tank?

Don't see how to do it on my Sea Breeze.

Yes the pump ratings are 200 gallons a hour at 50 psi and they have another one
that has a output of 300 gallons a hour.
I like many others have no direct way to put water in the water tank other than
through the city water connection. The antifreeze suction inlet does not put any
thing in the tank. My system lets me put water anywhere .
As a side note this little pump will draw water several feet below it's input connection

Thanks for confirming my suspicion about the suction inlet not able to be used to fill the tank.

That is right all that happens is the input to the in house 12 volt pump is changed
from tank to suction input.
There maybe some units out that have the ability but have not seen any.

Buying a second winterizing kit could be plumbed into the OUTLET line of the RV water pump. The valve could then divert back to the line FROM the tank, thus filling it. Only problem, I doubt if the RV pump could draw from a source like the Harbor Freight pump could. Since you do not have the plumbing to push from RV pump into the tank, I think the portable pump would be best.
