Fogged Window Repair

As with many owners of MH's with double paned windows, I have had issues with windows fogging up or getting a haze between the panes in the past. This again happened to me. The passenger side cockpit window began fogging up (blocking the outside rear view mirror) as well as the very rear bedroom window (looking out of the back of the MH).

I am writing this to commend Reliable Auto Glass in Redlands, CA for the excellent service provided in repairing the two windows. The owner, Craig, really knows his stuff. He came out to my house and removed the two windows last Tuesday (4/21). Two days later he returned with the windows repaired and installed them. For anyone living in the Southern California area, I would highly recommend his service.

His phone number is 909-723-4152

I need to find someone in Metro Atlanta that can do the same. No major issues but beginning to see signs on the side Passenger window. Any suggestions or recommendation from Georgia RVers?

I cannot help with any information on this type of work in your area.
I had my windows repaired a while back. At the time we were wandering up and down the West Coast so I called several shops in 4 states getting quotes. The prices were all over the place, as were some of the sales pitches that went with them! The high price was $350.00/window.
I had mine repaired in Mesa AZ while we were here for Xmas. We now live here, but not at that time.
The entire project is very easy for a competent Glass Shop. We had two windows repaired. It took two techs less than two hours total to do the job. Once the windows are reinstalled, the coach should not be moved for 24 hours to allow the new seals to set up properly.
I paid $100.00 for the first window and $80.00 for the second.
They came to our location and did the work on a temporary work bench behind their truck. Getting the windows out and back in was not difficult. We have painted window frames and have no chips or scratches from the work.
Hope this helps.
Mike

DO you still have the name/number of the shop that did your widows, I need mine done and have someone coming out this week but it is $250 a window, and that is the cheapest I could find.

They did great work for us at a fair price. I would use them again without question.

Fogged Windows

I used rvglassrepairservices.com out of Greensboro,NC. They had my unit in their "pattern Library". They shipped me the glass unit and I replaced it myself. I paid $125 plus shipping for the unit. I have a few more I need done. Once I mastered this one, I knew I could do the rest as money and time allows. They offer a good warranty along with their products.

HELP! I need a fogged-window repair facility in San Diego County (Escondido). Anyone out there had success with this in my area, or perhaps Riverside county?? Many thanks in advance for anyone's response!

For those of you living in San Diego County, I received a highly rated reference from Sonrise RV, here in Escondido:
Dan, at Protech (mobil service) - (619) 402-6585

I'll be calling him when we come home from a brief trip.

Quote too high.

Spoke to Dan at Protech today regarding my four fogged front side windows on our 2007 Dolphin. Two are the large 21" x 46" (approx.) upper side windows, and two are the lower, fixed, 9 1/2 " x 23" (approx.) windows. I was quoted $201.00 for each of the large windows, and $30.00 for each of the small windows. Not bad, I thought, then he added two hours labor, at $170.00 per hour. This totals over $800.00! I set an appointment for next week, but I think I need to cancel it, or at least do the R&R of the windows myself - if he will allow that, and still warranty his resealing of the windows. Any thoughts???

Find an excuse for a trip to Florida. These people did a good job on our fogged double pane driver & passenger side windows. They have hookups and a dump station at their location. Suncoast Designers | RV Window Repair Specialists in Hudson, FL

However, they are said to be very busy during the RV snowbird migration in the spring & fall.

I have a 2004 dolphin and the cockpit windows on both sides are fogged up. Do they have to replace the glass when they repair the window? If anyone knows someone in the Nashville TN area that can do this please let me know.

Kasey, it depends on how long they have been fogged. Really cannot tell until they are apart. There is some sort of reaction to the moisture if it is left in there for a long time.

Best bet is to get them done, soon as it starts. New glass is expensive.

Look for my post in this thread. If there is no one local, and you feel confident in removing the windows, you can ship them to Greensboro NC and they will fix and return.

L.
