Fresh water pump.

Would anyone know if the original fresh water pump for a 1998 Tradewinds are still available. Turned mine on by mistake while on city water. The pump still runs however doesn't shut off or pump water.

You can use just about any water pump that will fit in the area the current one is in. There are several to chose from and it is a pretty basic installation, just hook up the electrical and water in/out lines and you are good to go. The mounting may require some new holes as that may not line up but that is not a problem.

The make and model number will be on the original pump.
Get that information and Google it.
Repair kits for most RV fresh water pumps, (as well as replacement pumps), are available.

Water pump replacement

Looks like the best way for me is to install a new pump. Since it will require a little plumbing I will add an accumulator tank which should tone down the pump noise. Thanks for the reply's. New to this camping way and always a boater in the past. So far this is better than boating.

I don't know if your pump is bad but I do know I've done that same thing many times and caused no problem to the pump, check to make sure you switched back to tank and the tank has water in it it, could be just a suction line loose good, luck good luck

Replace Water Pump.

I have replaced mine before just remove it call Camping World and give them the info that on your pump.
They usually have what you are looking for or have one that will work for you.
Been there and done that.
(Note) If you have a gas engine the pump may be under the back bed.
But if you have a big pusher I don't know where the water pump is located.
Just a thought.

The pump might just need to be primed. It's behind the panel where all the levers are.

I replaced the one in my Tropical a little while a little while back. Fit like a charm and works great.
