Gasoline has changed a lot since the '90s. The stuff you buy today is contaminated with ethanol which will cause corrosion in steel fuel lines and attack rubber components like fuel pump diaphragms, hoses and check valves. Gasoline has additives that will cause it to turn bad quickly to prevent citizens from trying to hoard it. Fuel stabilizer products will help overcome some of these effects, but the only long term cure is to replace steel fuel lines with SS, seal the gas tank with an ethanol resistant coating and replace all rubber components with resistant materials. Welcome to our "green society".

Hi Cunsworth, I have a 2000 Tradewinds. When I brought it in to Freightliner for a general oil change and fuel filter change they told me I have two fuel filters. They said that it looks like the second fuel filter was never changed. I don't know it we are mechanically compatible but it might be worth checking into.

Before changing the fuel filter, look at this other thread about an issue with Workhorse fuel filter;

Read all the way to the last post. It appears that you may need an alteration to the fuel filter.
