Gas smell from generator.

Hi,

200 Seaview, Generac generator.

Once I shut off the generator, we have some gas fumes entering the coach. We can realy smell it. The muffler is new, the alarm doesn't go off.

When I open the generator compartment door, you can smell gas, not exhaust fumes.

Any ideas, and is this normal?

I had a crack in the inline fuel filter. My wife smelled gasoline for weeks before my nose confirmed there was a problem. A new filter corrected the problem.
