Have you used-Extended Service Plan???

Has any one used an Extended Service Plan? Mine is up for Renewal, $500 deductible and $1,100 premium. I bought the plan 4 years ago and luckily have never needed it so I'm wondering how many people have used theirs and was it worth the cost.

At the time of purchase 4 1/2 years ago, on what was then a 10 year old coach , I was offered a 4 year bumper to bumper , for 7,400, or powertrain only, for 4,800, declined both . In the years since non-maintenance repairs have totaled 2,200, and figuring the deductible of 200 per shop visit the plan would have only paid 1,600 on the bumper to bumper, or 700 on powertrain.

So for the meantime, I'm money ahead.

Thanks for the reply. You were smarter than I was. Mine was not a lump payment but yearly around the $1,000 plus mark. Not bumper to bumper, it will cover major items but you have to produce every record of maintenance. The list of failure causes not covered is much longer that the covered parts.

We have one with Good Sam. About 1200 a year for a 10 year old coach. Covers tires, seals, gaskets, and most everything. 500 deduct but over the years I have found that it is worth it for some piece of mind. Charles

I have used mine. Was a lump sum up front. Had a slide motor break. Was a couple thousand to get fixed. That was 2 months into a 4yr warranty. Also has propane leak fixed. Getting ready to have the inverter repaired a slow start problem checked and the a/c checked. I think I will end up far ahead.
My plan is to sell the coach with 1 yr warranty left so the new owner has some Piece of mind.

Petegemelli, thanks for the reply. I'm still considering what to do.... What company is your plan with and what is the age of your coach?

With all of my vehicles, including my MH, I probably at break even on premium vs repair savings over the years. Most people are not.

Plan

Dang you guys are lucky! Didn't have on last 4 coaches but got it on this one. $50 deduct able bumper to bumper. They have been as good as I could have ever wanted. Covered just about everything I wanted and we have had to have a lot of things done. Well over the $7000 5 year cost and only 3 years into the contract. I am a little mechanical but would never own a coach without one again. Just my two cents.

Safe travels

I'll be doing the same. We have a plan with www.wholesalewarranties.com that pretty much covers everything including gaskets & seals. It is also was one of the last that is unlimited mileage. We've used them twice without a problem. We still have two years left on it. The original price was $4400 for 4yrs.

The one I have is yearly renewal with Good Sams, $1,200. With the poor service I had with their Emergency Roadside Service (2 times) I'm worried that they would really do anything at all with the Extended Warranty because of the exclusions in their policy.

warranty

I have used the warranty twice. Once to replace Norcold 1210 with new fridge and once to replace bad turbo on my diesel.well worth it but I could be the exception. Tom 07 Pacifica

warranty

I used Protective Xtraride thru the dealer, very expensive for 4 years but so far it cost the company 8000.00. I know nothing about pushers but am learning fast doing most work myself. Easy people to deal with. Tom
