My dometic, Duo-Therm wall thermostat is acting up. Off gets heat, heat gets AC.. etc. I am looking at a honeywell non-programmable and it only has four wires, called their 1-880 number and she said it would not work on a 12 volt system.. Has anyone replaced the Duo-Therm.
Don

It is easy to replace the Duo-Therm with a digital Hunter.
At Walmart, Lowe's or Home Depot you can get an inexpensive digital Hunter that operates from 2 AA batteries. It will control A/C and heater. The only downside is the fan connection. You either choose which fan speed to wire up to the thermostat or put in a little switch to allow you to select. The 12v power and ground wire coming out of the wall are not used and should be taped over. The Hunter 42995 works well.

First try unplugging the phone connector for about 30 sec and then plug it back in. This resets the thermostat and may clear up the problem. Next test the Comfort Control Center with all the florescent lights off, sometimes the ballasts in the lights will screw up the communications lines to the forward AC unit giving weird results.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I will replace it with a Hunter. I like digital better than the old sliders anyway.
