Heater control valve access

I have a 2003 Tradewinds LE and I suspect that the evans tempcon control valve is faulty. I can see it mounted on the firewall however I can't see any access to get to the unit to further test/replace etc. Has anyone else solved this access problem? It looks like they mounted the control valve on the firewall and then built the rest of the coach around it. any suggestions /solutions will be appreciated.

I just put a 1/2" ball valve in the input hose - off when I am down south and on when I head back north. A/C works now.

mine was sticking as well so what I did was smack it with a wrench, not hard to break it but tapping it. it now works fine. I agree, its in a very tight spot and would be a bit_h to take out. hope this suggeston works.

I had a similiar problem with my 2000 LE. I went to the front of the coach thru the generator door area and replaced the DC wire to the valve and it worked. Valve was fine but no power. I ran a complete new circuit. All works now..

I replaced my Tempcon valve several years ago but I could get to mine. It wasn't easy. I remounted it in a different place to make it easier to get to. Just a side note, National had it installed backwards. They had the water entering the outlet and exiting the inlet.
