In the front outside just over the generator on the bulkhead is a vacuum pump for the dash air. You should hear it running when you first turn on the ignition. If it's not running or a hose has come off or has a hole in it the flaps directing air will not work.

Thanks for this ! Mine just stopped working and I was suspecting the vacuum pump. I haven't had a chance to explore and now I don't have to !
