Hi all, Was wondering what some of you do for cooler times . My wife does not like the propane heat , because she is ether hot or to cold with no in between . I see there are some heaters like a electric fireplace or a lot of small ones. We live in the NW and I will not retire for 9 months. Then we will head for warmer places, thank you,
Bob , Rita Bazley

I don't know what type of thermostat you have, but a digital will hold the temperature within tighter limits. We use a 1500W electric unit at night, perhaps this unit could be used to even things out.

We installed a small electric fireplace in place of the drawers between the pilot & co-pilot seats in the cockpit (possible on a DP). With the generator running we also use this to give us extra heat while rolling down the road.
Cool/cold nights we leave an oil-filled radiator on all night. We occasionally need to use the furnaces to take the chill off but for the most part the 2 electric heaters keep us toasty down to about 30 degrees.

We have spent the last five winters in a 5th wheel in cold climate. We use an oil filled electric heater with a small fan on top blowing down it keeps the floors warm and circulates the air. This along with furnace keeps it toasty.

We use an electric heater and have found that by itself it can keep the rig relatively warm. It has a fan and I plug it in in the kitchen area and aim it toward the bedroom. Wife love it warm. I also should add we have a heating blanket---works fine.

We use 2 and some times 3 1500 watt heaters in temps as low as 5f keeps us real toasty.

I'd have to go along with a small 1500 watt electric heater with a fan in it. I put one on the dog house and it keeps the coach warm. This helps keep the propane heater from cycling on and off as often.

"Ditto" on the 1500W electric heater suggestion. Does the job and is quiet.

Me too. Two 1000/1500 watt electric heaters w/fans and thermostat. One in the front and one in the bath pointed toward the back. I run them at 1000 watts. When it gets real cold, the main heaters (propane) kick in occasionally. Works great! Rook

We use two cheap Wal-mart 1500 w heaters with fans hooked up to the CG's power... never had the need to use our propane.

Hi all,
Thank you for all the suggestions . We just got back from a small trip and I forgot the lap top. It looks like the electric fireplace will fit in a cabinet low down at the end of the living area. I like the idea of changing the thermostat to a digital . I have a oil feel heater, my wife say when we travel it dose not look nice.So thank you for all the suggestions .
