If the generator is at the left rear of the coach, the 2nd cable probably goes to it. I realize there is a difference in our coaches. Mine is on a 99 chassis, yours is probably on a 96, possibly 97 but most likely a 96. I only have one positive cable on the chassis battery. It is spliced to another cable outside of the battery box, one cable goes to engine starter relay the other to the Battery Control Center (BCC) made by RV Custom Products. At the BCC the cable is attached a to 150 amp breaker that feeds the Power Gear jacks and the generator. If your BCC is made by RV Custom Products you should contact them to get a schematic and troubleshooting guide for the board for future reference.

If your BCC is made by intellitec you can try here. Speciality vehicle power distribution, charging, switching and controlling electrical systems from Intellitec
If 3rd cable goes to the starter relay, check if they are using the relay terminal for a junction for other wires that supply power to different items of the chassis. If there are additional wires connected to the relay terminal you maybe reading feed back from what ever the wires feed.

BTW, you say the coach battery is kaput. Is it just discharged and needs to be recharged? If it is bad how was it verified by conductance tester which is what most parts stores use or by hydrometer? The conductance testers are very good at detecting a bad cell or weak battery. I would still backup the tester with an hydrometer if it said the battery had a bad cell.
