Tradewinds, 2000, model 7373---I have this MH and i was wondering if anyone has come up with a better way of holding up the corian top that covers the cook stove. I am kinda afraid that it might fall and that would be bad if one was boiling water or cooking something on the stove. I dont plan on doing alot of cooking in the MH, but once in a while it is necessary. It is just a cheap way of holding up a very heavy top. Any suggestions. Rivrduk

Don't know what type of cover you have. My dolphin had a two piece hinged cover that was held to the wall with: Squared Baggage Door Catches - Product - Camping World

My Tropical has two separat pieces that fit vertically in grooves in the back of the stove and rest on the wall. I have had no trouble with either falling on the stove.

I have never had a problem with the cover falling.Guests trying to close the top is another thing.Trying to close it without releasing the clip end up with a bent hinge.

Our Atwood Wedgewood edition cooktop has a "lock" built into it. The Corian cover is 2 piece, the front section hinges down when you raise the top, and the top then continues back and locks in place standing stright up. To lower you have to grab the top and lift up slightly, releasing the lock and then lower the top.

Thats what i have, the same hook as yours. It is a two piece top which is very heavy since it is made of corian. I dont trust it is a little suspect to holding up the heavy two piece folding top. Thanks, Rivrduk

I have a simple baggage door hook that is a little suspcet. I guess they changed it on the 2001. Mine folds in the middle but it does not lock unless you put the baggage hook on it. Rivrduk

We have what you’re describing and I have always wondered if it was strong enough. We've had the coach since 2007 and haven't had any mishaps. I would rather have a latch like Dan has it just seems more positive a safer.

But still we've had no problems and I haven't come up with a better way to do it.

We have a two piece corian stovetop, not hinged or connected. The front section has the counter front overlap. We just remove it and place it on a convenient corner near the slide out and credenza. The rear section, we tip up against the back wall and it stays put quite well there. No issues.
A fold away and prop against the back wall would be nice and less fuss. But hey, it is what it is. Edouard.
