Has anyone hooked up the ceiling speakers to the front TV to create a surround sound??
I found a set of RV jacks behind the stereo under the dash...

Hi Al and welcome to our little National forum. Try pugging the audio out on the TV to the audio in on the dash radio, let us know what happens. I think it will work just fine, if there's an AUX switch on the radio. Tell Mike I said Hi.

Al,
Mine has a "from the NRV factory" Radio Shack FM modulator under dash and wired to allow TV audio out to be tuned to an FM station. They used and labeled the dash switch with "Radio-TV".

Yours may be similar but they do make changes thru the years!

Marty

If the above things don't work get a cassette adapter (provided you have cassette in radio) and hook it to line out on the tv or sat receiver if you use that...

I had the same switch as Marty but had no FM Modulator. I asked NRV for wiring diagram, bought FM Modulator from local audio shop and got diode from Radio Shack. Hooked up modulator to audio out and works fine.

Big Al,

Read my post from Nov 6th regarding "Troubled Surround Sound System" and you might find your answer. After four years I finally figured mine out it was just a matter of TV audio out selections. Your 2005 model should have a Wiengard selector with a FM modulator built in. The two jacks you found unpluged under your dash are probably "out to front speakers". I have the same thing and wondered what they were until yesterday when I hooked up my newly acquired GPS unit (Garmin Street Pilot 550) to the jacks and the directions come out through the front coach speaks. My in dash radio is a Pioneer with XM built in. I had to activated the Aux portion of the radio (read instructions in radio manual). The GPS directions are giving simultaneously with anything playing through the system. This GPS unit is also Bluetooth capable so you can hear the consversations through the front stereo speakers. Good luck...

I am still figuring out the sound system after owning our Dolphin since the first of Sept. My Dish receiver wouldn't fit in the shallow A/V equipment cabinet, so I set it on the engine doghouse under the dash and ran a coax cable up the window pillar to the Winegard switch. Had to run a new antenna input coax to the outside also. I can hook the radio aux jacks to the Dish receiver and get TV sound through the cabin speakers, but the sound is not quite in sync with the TV picture. Since both crummy RCA TVs burned out at end-of-warranty plus two months, I now have a huge cavity in the front waiting for installation of a LCD HD TV. I plan to install a sub-woofer and amplified speakers along with the TV. (We don't have the home theater option.) I also have used the radio aux input jacks to hook up an MP3 player.

Hooked up the TV audio out to in dash stereo AUX. in, put stereo on AUX. turn TV on and have great stereo sound from the coach speakers and TV. Ran the audio cables in the overhead and down the drivers side A pillar and under the dash to stereo. Under 20.00 dollars.

My 2001 came with the usual dashboard switch...the owners manual said what it was, the radio manual told me how it worked...but nothing happened. Seems I did not have the "converter" at all. Called NRV, spoke with Ed Krominga...he said that only came with the (at the time) upscale gas Trop-I-Cal...not the Dolphin. But, I countered, what about the 2 owners manuals INCLUDING the Dolphin manual that says : 1- it's there 2-how to make it happen. A few days later, Ed called me back and said NRV would spring for the unit if I would pay for the install. Ahhhh....I did. And it worked fine, until last spring when the radio itself failed. I bought a new SONY with a i-pod plug in the face...and use the same wire from the "audio/out" on the TV to the i-Pod "in" (replaced the jack plug at the i-Pod end..different size) and it works just great. Much simpler...but in 2001 this was not available.
