House Batteries 2004 Sea Breeze
This is my first post, but I have been reading and searching pretty regularly for a couple months. Last week, we bought a 2004 Sea Breeze 1311 in excellent condition. When going through the MH, I was told the alternator did not charge the house batteries. I thought maybe the seller was wrong as I have owned two previous MHs and both (Fleetwoods), charged while going down the road, but sure enough, this one does not. We drove almost 1,200 miles home.
In the newspaper, I saw the same model (2003) for sale. I called and asked if his engine charged the HBs while running down the road, and he said it did not. My owners manual says it does, and I believe others in this forum who have National RVs stated theirs does as well.
I'm looking for owners of this particular model who can tell me if theirs does or doesn't before I go try looking for a wire I'm not sure I would recognize. Love the coach. Spotless, runs great, and looks like new.

I don't have the same model as yours however my Dolphin does charge the house batteries when engine is running. It also charges the chassis battery when on shore power, generator, and solar. Usual cause for not cross charging is the failure of the interconnect relay. Best to call RV Custom Products the manufacturer of the Battery Control Center (BCC) and ask for the troubleshooting guide for your BCC. All National RV's will cross charge the batteries if all components are working properly.

Do you have a "boost or emergency boost" switch on the dash? If so it activates same relay when held down. Easy test using awitch. If the rig has not been used or plugged in the relay will stick. A rap on it with screwdriver handle may knock it loose.

You probably have a BCC with circuit breakers but the attached drawing will give you an idea of the component layout.
When my interconnect relay/solenoid failed it would still energize but the contacts would not flow any current. This is what I replaced mine with.

Chassis batteries
My 2005 Dolphin does charge both sets while the alternator is running. The Xantrex inverter/charger does both, likewise on shore power. You do have to check the water levels monthly.

Thanks for the replies. Finally had time to dig into it a little bit, and it turned out to be a bad solenoid.

Exactly what I was going to suggest - the solenoid. Be sure to get a constant duty solenoid rated at 85Amps.
