How big of an issue is it to find parts?

Hello to all,

I am in the process of researching to buy an older coach to go full time. One that has risen to the top of the pile for me is the 2002-2004 National Dolphin (and Dolphin LX). Since National went out of business, how big of an issue is it to find parts?

I appreciate your input!

You've come to the right place. Some one or more of the friendly folks that meet at this watering hole can put you in touch with the place to get parts, big and small.

The chassis club is the second place that you should haunt if you have any problems.

We've had our '05 Dolphin since march of 2011 and have had no problems locating parts.

No experience with that in particular. However, most parts won't be Dolphin specific. Things like fenders, bumpers, etc will be. But appliances, no.

Good choice in your picks i might add, and don't forget to check amazon for those small pieces that might break just from old age, like window latches and alike. Otherwise you'll find that most of the stuff in side was used in other models for years to come. Rockauto.com for the engine area and some of the other auto/truck related parts, wipers and lamps (lights of all sizes) are a real deal and OEM stuff as well.

We've had our 99 Tradewinds since 2007 and haven't had any problems getting parts beyond OEM brands, like the Dometic four button thermostat. Not really much that's National except body parts and those can still be had here RV Parts | Ortega Manufacturing with luck you will never need any. All the stuff for CAT, and Freightliner are still in production. I'm sure the Dolphin engine and chassis is the same.

The Dolphin was a petty popular one, you shouldn't have much trouble finding compatible parts on the internet. I have an older but popular coach and have found parts made for different coaches that fit.
