How to remove engine Tropical 6350
How does the engine come out on a 1998 Tropical 6350 P30 7.4L? I have a brand new 8.1L I would like to swap, lot more power and torque. Also considering if I am doing it a Duramax / Allison swap. The bus is like new condition just want to up the power / torque.
Does it come out the front, the front nose come off? Out the Bottom? Not coming out through the interior.

Thanks BFlinn, I found those also before I posted because neither of these are P30 chassis. A full internet search has not found this specific model, hence why I ask here.

Me to. Also pulled a 454 out the driver side door on a Holiday rambler.

Can you confirm that was a P30 chassis? Does not look like the crossmember is removable? I might have to do a double take but it sure looks like one piece.
The passenger window would be a nightmare with a wrap around windshield. No way my engine crane would be long enough for that.

I was hoping for a answer fro experience. Surely someone has done one but searching the internet finds nothing.. I called the dealer that sold it and got the "that was 20 years ago" answer and no one would discuss it.
I am thinking it has to come out the front after the lower surround removed and after EVERYTHING piled in front of the motor is removed.

If you look closely you will find the the lower cross member is bolted on the main frame. lot more work than a W series, but it does come out the bottom. While you have it off might as well replace the airbags too. I'd rather take it out the bottom than trying to take it out from the inside. You will have to get it up pretty high to get it out though. I'd get everything loose before hand.

I removed the front on mine to remove the rad . Looks like there is enough room to pull the engine. I did not have to remove the windshield . On some coaches the windshield had to be removed to get the engine out . Too long ago to remember what kind of coach.
