Hydraulic jack broke through foot plate! HELP!

Pulling away from the store Christmas eve and I hear this God awful metal scraping near the rear of the rv. So I go outside to investigate and to my horror I find that the hydraulic peg leg thing has busted THROUGH the foot plate on my 99 dolphin. Now it's just bouncing there in the middle of the the Jack leg, and although it's not stuck here lies my problem. The spring is attached to The foot which is just dangling and has no way to keep the Jack retracted. How can I keep it from scraping the road if there's nothing pulling it up? Can anyone please help? At this point I'll even remove the one Jack just to remain mobile. This isn't the most rv friendly town. Thanks for any help!

Wow, sorry to hear. Seems it needs to be tied up until a proper fix can be applied. Duct tape? Bungee cord? Wire?

Ratchet strap until you can do a proper fix.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

If you have Power Gear jacks, The bolt that goes through the foot came out. To replace the bolt. Loosen the bolt that holds the spring. install the foot and tighten the spring bolt.
