OK, we are new to this 08 Pacifica, and the dealer walk around left a whole lot for us to discover on our own. But, even after reading the case full of documents and going over the coach many, many times I need a few answers.
1. Where are the lanyards to pull for clearing out the air tanks. I have read that there are three different lanyards to pull, but darned if I can find any of them.
2. I was going out to check the water level in the batteries. I have located the bank of 4 batteries on the driver side in the rear most compartment. I assume that these are the coach batteries. Where are the chassis batteries located.
Boy Howdy do I feel stupid having to ask these questions, but I just plain don't know the answers.
Thanks in advance...again,
Jon

On my 2002, the lanyards were coiled up and taped near the air tanks. We have the independent front suspension, so the air tanks are up above the suspension and a bit hard to get to.
My batteries are all together in the same compartment. 4 6volt for the coach and two big 12 volt for the chassis. You might look in the engine compartment for the chassis batteries.

When you find those lanyards (should be close to the air tanks) reroute them into the front wheel well, mine are on the passenger's side. My chassis batteries are in the same compartment above the house batteries.

We have a 2008 Pacifica 40D. The batteries are in the 2nd from rear compartment, passenger side. The inverter is in the last compartment at rear, passenger side. Engine access is driver side.

OK, Half way there. I located a Vending dealer on Ebay that had the keys to my locked compartments. They were the triangle shaped barrel lock keys. Not a bad price, I got three (3) keys delivered for around $18. Best part was I received them in two days.
I have now located my chassis batteries, they were in the bay just ahead of the coach/house batteries behind the secure barrel keyed locks.
Now I still need to locate the lanyards for clearing the air out of the tanks. That will have to wait until the weekend when warmer weather is in the forecast.
Thanks to all,
Jon

IS THERE ANY possibility of the coach dropping on you when you clear the air OUT? I'd sure hate to have one on me. When the air is dumped on mine the front is appx. 4" off the ground. Safety first.

I pull the lanyards (they look like a stainless bicycle brake or shift cable, curled with a loop so you can grab them) about every 3 mos. There are 3 on this particular chassis (Freightliner XCS). One on the driver's side just behind the front wheel coming through the chassis C frame. Two on the passenger side behind the front wheel, through the chassis C frame.
Pull gently for just a second or two to let moisture out of the air brake lines. If you don't see moisture, you're cool. If you do see moisture, keep letting it out. Moisture is BIG-TIME-BAD for air brakes. If it freezes, you'll lose braking, and moisture causes brake failure even if it doesn't freeze.
The suspension does not decline (not for me anyway), so you won't lose height.
