We have a new 2007 Tropical T330 that does not have the door awning. We are considering having one put on at Camping World and I was wondering if anyone knows how they handle the uneven surface caused by the facia over the front cap seam? Do they cut out a section of the facia to allow the awning to mount flat against the motorhome fiberglass?

I would think it would cause a problem with your coach warranty if they cut your facia they may have a back board to build out awning so that wouldn't be required.

I have a 07 Trop-Cal and had National RV install
A Door awning. I can send You a Pic.
I think you are talking about the trim piece that needs to cut.
National had to remove the window by the front door to run all the wires.
So make sure they know what they are doing.

Bob, my 07 Pacifica has a door awning that is just about useless for keeping rain from running down the side of the coach and into the doorway. It butts up against the cap molding, that is where the trouble starts. water runs down the cap molding and into the doorway. Good luck.

Hippie,

Pictures would be nice. I did look at an Tropical LX last week at the dealer and could see that the moding had to be cut.

Thanks,

Bob

Jestme,

Sounds like the door awning may not solve the problem with water coming in around the door. It would be nice to have through when getting in and out of the motorhome during the rain.

Thanks for info,

Bob

nodine, i would agree that it beats a blank. But, I would have expected them to have a better solution.
