We usually wash our dishes in a dishpan and then pour the dishwater down the toilet. We find emptying the black water tank easier with more liquid in there, and it takes longer to fill this tank than the grey water. However, I accidentally dumped a small plastic paring knife down the toilet. Fortunately, this is a very light-weight utensil, plastic handle, and doesn't have a real sharp point. Any suggestions on how to get it out, or the second question, will it hurt anything to just leave it in there (our first choice!)?

We also posted a comment about a weird water spot on our carpet. Discovered that there was a leak in the shower drain. We replaced some poly seamseal around the drain and no more leaking! Wish all our fixes were so easy!

i doubt it will hurt anything when i removed my fresh water tank to check for a leak
i found a drywall screw under the tank no damage and you gotta figure the drain tank are a much heavier gauge of pvc
good luck

I think it might just come out sometime with the wash when you dump the black. Hmmm,,,, will it make the turn as it feeds downward towards the dump opening?

When the paring knife we dumped in the toilet finally made it's way out of the holding tank two years later, it wedged in the line to our septic tank. I had to dig up the line to clear the obstruction. Hope yours goes in somebody elses sewer system.
