Latch problems

Recently I broke a latch to one of the cargo bay doors on my SurfSide. Has anyone replaced one of these? If so, how do I get the latch out of the door?

Looks to me as if the outside handle mechanism is glued in; am I right?

Sorry have not had any experience with the side hinge door latch. Hopefully someone with a Surfside will jump in.

Thanks for your reply, Richard. I managed to solve my own problem!
For someone else that may have the same problem.........use a razor blade and gently score the silicone that is around the handle apparatus on the outside and with a gentle push from behind, the handle mechanism will pop out. This provides access to release the rod that connects the latch with the handle. Don't forget to take off the keeper on the rod. Hope this helps others that may have the same dialema as mine!!
