If it's not one thing it's another on my Tradewinds.Today I was out in the rain cleaning the gutters on the MH,I know, that's really smart but it was only kind of a mist, and so I decided to put the door awning down to see how well it worked.Welllll,it leaks thru the metal cover when it's extended and then there is a place where someone dripped caulking on the cloth and the water runs right thru it and down the underside of the awning.I cleaned the caulking off and the green stuff that is on the awning where it fastens to the metal part and it seems to be a tad bit better. I am hoping to get out tomorrow and get several cans of Scotchguard water-proofing and spray it when it dries out.
Now the problem is still the metal slats are still leaking and water is running thru them and down under the awning.Anybody had this before? I really don't want to replace this thing if I don't need too.

I did get all 80' of gutters scrubbed,1/2 the roof cleaned (kinda),the front bug catcher (front of the MH) cleaned and scraped and a new FM antenna put on to replace the old one that my new Traveler Sat antenna ate when they ran it the first time.OOppss.

bigdog, Take a look at this product. It makes a waterproof wax coating. I used something like this on the seams of out nylon tents oh so many years ago when we slept in sleeping bags in tents.

Nikwax

Hey.I remember those days too.Heavy green canvas umbrella tent that every season my job, besides setting it up all the time, was to paint it with a waterproofing sort of paint. We five kids slept in the 7X7 tent and the parents either slept out or in the back of the '59 Plymouth Suburban SW
