More problems.. Turns out the previous owner drove the rear jacks into the ground too many times and now they're leaking.. The front ones are as dry as they are s'posed to be,but I am having to have to add a bit of fluid and usually clean out the footpads.I am planing on doing what one person suggested and that was to clean them really well, spray Silicone spray on them and put Vaseline around the seal and cycle them several times.
I was also wondering about adding a bottle of transmission stop-leak if that would work. Another suggestion was to make the seals expand by adding a bit of brake fluid, but how much is a bit..
I do plan on getting them fixed if necessary, but right now the budget is exhausted, what with the new sat dish, getting the toad set up for towing, new batteries and a new w/s gasket.

Just keep in mind that right now you need to repair the two rear jacks and if you add brake fluid or any other additive it may stop the leak for a period of time but when it starts leaking again you will have to overhaul the whole system.(All four jacks and the pump)

What ever you put unto the tank will affect all 4 jacks. I had my two rears repaired with new seals for the same reason yours needed it. Some one ran them into the ground and ran them back up without cleaning off the pads, pulls dirt into the seals. It runs about $350 for 2.

Yes,I did...I hit the bases and the cylinders really heavy with a strong Awesome solution and then with a sweeper nozzle on the hose.I then wiped them with paper towels and sprayed them with Silicone spray several times and ran them several times. They were ok till the other day when I raised one rear jack way up to level the coach and didn't put the front ones down first and even tho it's not bent,it shot out some fluid. I cleaned it the same way and it seems to be ok. no leaks.

 Hello FrankanSandy ,
I was reading your post or answer to a post and Thought $ 125 was a reasonable price for two jacks , rebuilt . I have a rear leaking profusly , probably for the same reason and would like to have it rebuilt . After finally talking to a secretary at HWH and suggested buying a kit to rebuild it my self , she informed me they had to be sent back to the factory ( HWH of course ) , and another question I had for her , which I can't remember now , was quickly stopped with , " I'll have to run that past engenering . Anyway was just comparing notes , nthanks for your time .

I was always told to just use Transmission fluid to lube the jacks, as that is what is in the lines. Other additives tend to break down the seals.

Power Gear manual says to use Silicone spray . Transmission fluid will collect dirt and make it stick on the jack leg.
