Hi all,
We just spent 4 days at Lake Tahoe camping and I discovered a very slight leak at the valve area of the toilet on our 05 Dolphin. The toilet is a Dometic Sealand 511 Plus. The leak seems to be showing right at the base of the valve assembly and only occurs when the water pump is on and the system is pressurized. We were running off of the pump the whole time, without hook ups, and when we have hook ups we used a pressure regulator, so I don't think it's been exposed to high pressure causing the issue. At least not while we've owned it. While camping I shut off the pump, dried it off real good and applied a little jb quick, being careful not to get any on the threads and seal the hose connector to the valve assembly. This was done after tightening everything. This didn't eliminate the leak but it did slow it down a bit. I've found the valve assembly on line for around $38, so it looks like if that's what it's going to need, it's not to expensive.
I know this is a previously listed post in many area's. I'm curious though if anyone else has experienced the same problem and what your solution was.

The owners manual that came with my '2000 model says there's a built in pressure regulator. I imagine your's has one as well.
I also attach a regulator to the spiggot, just to protect the hose.

If you call Dometic and explane your problem they will send you the parts to fix it free of charge.

Thanks for the get backs folks. Especially the exploded diagram. I should be able to find the number for Dometic easy enough, unless someone already has the number.
Man! what a great forum, and great folks on here. So helpful

Hello, I had the same problem with mine. I first noticed a little dampness around the base of the toilet. At first I thought it was the regulator. I found out that the coach has one built into the panel right where you hook up your hose. You cant see it! Pulled it apart to clean and inspect it and all was good. So I got a bowl to catch the water in the toilet valve and pulled off the shroud around the bottom of the toilet for better access and visual inspection. traced the leak to the brass cap at the bottom of the valve. this cap has the return spring in it that pushes the lever back up after you step on it to flush. It has a flat rubber gasket like a garden hose. replaced that and it was still leaking. Did not want to over tighten because the valve body has plastic threads. So next I tried plumbers tape, you know the white teflon tape. Pressured it up and it is still leaking. Alright here is the fix. Disassemble the cap and clean with rubbing alcohol and clean plastic threads allow to dry then put a thin coat of silicone rubber RTV on the male and female threads and reassemble making sure to torque the cap until fully seated and let dry for 24 hours. Look ma no more leaks.

Mine leaked at the valve too - tried a few times to fix it, finally took it off and glued it together with epoxy - no more leaks. If it should fail again the valve assembly is sold as a complete unit for about $30.

I did the same concerning expoxy. What was leaking on mine was where the water line screws onto the valve assembly. I used JB Waterweld. Stuff works great!
