You didn't mention what chassis your RV is built, so it's hard to be specific. The starter is underneath, it has a gear that engages the teeth on the outside ring of the flywheel. The flywheel is at the end of the engine, right before it joins the transmission. In a gas RV, it would be behind the front axle, usually on the driver's side. On a diesel, rear engine, it would be again tucked up next to the oil pan and the starter end is lined up with the flywheel, right before the transmission.
