Location of fuse for step
I have a 1999 National Tradewinds diesel pusher and the step has quit working and does not have any power to it. Does any one know where the 25 amp fuse is located on this unit. I have found the fuse panel next to the drivers chair and the a fuse block above it but i do not find any of them marked for the step or blown.
Thank you and hope some one can help me.

The fuse for your steps should be on the 12 volt distribution panel located in the basement compartment. Hopefully a Tradewinds owner will jump in and give you the exact location of the fuse .

I found the 3 fuses in the distribution panel in rear of the motor home and all the fuses are ok, i even replaced all of them but is still does not work. The number 10 red wire is the problem it does not have any curent to it. I have not found where it goes to the engine batteries and there may be another fuse on that one. Any sugestions??

Mine is fed from the chassis battery, so it sounds like the OP is looking in the right place. Could be an inline fuse somewhere as well with these things and suggest looking under the driver's seat for beginners.

If all else fails, run a new wire and fuse it, but first check the door switch and the on/off switch in the stairwell.

We gave up trying to find the problem on ours - took it in and had the motor and wiring replaced. Have you checked the eye on the door to see if it is working?

Here is a link to two Kwikee Manuals. https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ae67f...2766057%212766 the training manual will be of the most help. Our 99 Tradewinds has four fuses on the 12 Volt Dist. Board F25,F10,FD3,F4 On ours there is no 25 Amp Fuse but F3 is a Red/White wire fused at 20 Amps.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I finally found the blowen fuse. The main line is not on the chasey batteries as it says it is suppost to be but is on the coach batteries. Bill, thanks for your email but for some reason my step fuses are not on the same locations that your are. Its hard to belive they would not wire the units the same. I had a 15 amp fuse on the red main line for the step instead of the 20-25 amp it called for.
