i need to recaulk the upper areas of my exterior windows on my 2000 tradewinds. the butyle tape still good, this is just the upper part to help shed off water around window frame.
the factory stuff thats peeling off easy looks like and feels like black silicon but i hear this is a no-no to use, so what is it?
also it looks so pretty, uniform and smooth. is it applied by a machine at factory? when i caulk and really take my time , it still looks like poo
what the secret? i would tape it off, but then it leaves a hard line. i have tryed the water and good ol spit with no luck.
i tried those new plastic bead caulking tools with differnt angle today in my caulking job in the shower in my house and after many hours, it still looks like poo
i guess i am to anal on attention to detail with this stuff and dont want to just slop it on, so any tips is appreciated. i am just trying to get all sealing done, before i do the red max pro wax job.
this is such a great site to learn from, maybe one day i can repay with some ideas.
