Question Microwave problem

I have a 1999 Tradewinds, and the microwave is on the fritz. The light inside of it is always on now and the fan seems to be running also. Does anyone out there have a suggestion or a solution for this problem. It is a GE convection microwave above the range top. It just started doing this lately. I have sensed unplugged the unit so as to create and further problems. Could it maybe be fixed by installing a new circuit board? Please post any suggestions or comments that you might have.

Thanks

Could the micro-switches in the door/handle be sticking some?

I did not think about the door switch, I will check that and see if it is sticking.
Thanks
