More bay door repair questions

A couple of our bay doors are having separation issues at the edges where the styrofoam meets the edge of the door. It looks like its just a bead of silicone bonding the 2 pieces together, but is that really all it is?

I have to apply a small/moderate amount of pressure to squeeze the two door parts back together, so I'm questioning the effectiveness of just using silicone. I'm sure that I would need to clamp the pieces together while whatever I use dries.

I've checked the forums for similar door issues, but haven't found any. I'm sure that I'm not the only one to have this problem.

Any suggestions or remedies? Thanks!

I had one bay door with this problem on 3 sides. The PO had used a tar-like substance to try gluing it back, but it did not work for very long. Finally, I decided to use small "L" brackets (Lowes) and a couple of small screws each, spaced about every 6 inches, to hold everything together. Not very pretty, but only noticeable when the bay door is open.......but they do the job well. A little matching paint on them would make them less noticeable. Rook
