Just for general information, does anyone know why national went bankrupt ? Because they were trying to take care of their customers ! in about 2004 or 5 , their fiberf\glass supplier sold them a TON of inferior fiberglass, so that when it was preocessed and turned into sidewalls, it shrunk and cracked and left 1 to 2 inch gaps at the roofline. NATIONAL RV TOOK THE COACHES BACK AT THEIR EXPENSE ,AND UNDER WARRANTY, made the repairs on the affected coaches. The financial burden was too much for them with the economic climate, and bankruptcy was the only alternative for them. Unlike Monaco, they did NOT leave their dealer network stuck with millions in unpaid warranty claims. Also, the dealers were not obligated to disclose that they had heard rumors of bankruptcy. Because until the verdict comes down, that's just what it is... a RUMOR. That being said.... National built a fine coach...I love mine... and working at a dealership, I've not seen anything else come in that I'd trade it for. THAT says ALOT for a coach I think. My advice to the OP is to make the repairs that need to be made, list it privately and try to get enough out of it to make your payoff. You'll be money ahead because a dealer will give you 20% less than wholesale value, PLUS the cost of any estimated repairs it will need to make it saleable. Then go and find the coach that will suit your needs. BTW, we sell Nationals all day long and don't have any problem at all getting them financed. In '07 and '08 it was a different story, but now, it's not an issue.
