National RV production numbers - is this known?

Just curious. After our last couple of trips we noticed we hardly ever see other National RVs out and about.

Wondering if there’s a resource for production numbers by year and model?

Hard to find much information ,....they went out of business Dec. 2007 ---Chapter 11 bankruptcy

It has lost money every year since 2002, a total of more than $80 million in that period.
In its most recent quarter, sales were reported down 42 percent, according to a financial report released in August. The company reported an $8 million loss for that quarter.

NRV

I still see many NRV products on the road and in drive ways. Seeing some in the deep back yard which could be a death call for any RV. NRV made some models for only for a year likely to get rid of odd and end parts. The Bus and a Tradewinds model (forget exact name) are two I remember. There was nothing wrong with these units, just did not have all the amenities of prime name units. These were in the early 2000's.

The gassers they built were good coaches. The pushers they built were hit and miss. National's answer to loosing money was to bring out a new model. Their pusher Tropical had a cargo capacity of about 400 pounds. All of their interiors looked like it came from one of their other coaches.

I used to own a '99 T'winds and at one of the factory rally's, I bet a company official that I could blindfold him and take him into one of their coaches and he wouldn't be able to tell me what model he was in. If he could, I would pay list price for a new T'winds. He wouldn't take me up on the offer.

Yeah, we bought our 2006 SeaBreeze LX in April of this year, and it's been tough finding out some of the history of NRV. The dealer we bought it from said when the sons of the original owner took over that's when things started going down. However, I have no way of knowing if that's true or not. Seems like, at the time, the gassers were priced on the upper end (mine was $130k in 2006, so that's about $175K now) so maybe it was just the economy, and the 2007/2008 recession did them in?

I have a Pacifica qs40c. First class pusher. I understand that it listed for $252,000 in 07. Beautiful, but a lot of money in 07!

I have a 2008 surf side bunk model, we looked for 6 months for this model and only found 4. Of those 4 only 2 did not have body damage. I must have got one of the last ones as the State of Arizona registered it as a 2007 due to the chassis year as they could not find the Surf Side model in their system for 2008. Production numbers would be interesting, especially if broke down by year and model.

Most likely the only way you will find production numbers, is to look at National financial reports. Even those will at best tell you total production units and production by model

This is from my 1996 SeaBreeze. Don't know if these are what you're looking for. Appears to be the last 6 numbers on the VIN. HTH.
