I had to replace my OEM RBW/Al-ko bedroom slide power unit due to broken worm gear teeth. I got the new direct drive design with the low RPM motor and am into the replacement for about $700 total. The slide worked great for the first two months. It seems to run in and out quite a bit faster and is a lot quieter.
However, the last three times when I pushed the open switch, the motor just stalls and doesn't seem to have enough power to start the push out. I have to have the DW operate the switch while I manually push against the wall to get it started, then it will extend. So far, it closes fine. Because of the faster speed, it does hit against the seals and stops harder compared to the old unit. I am concerned that the replacement design is not the best idea.
Anyone else have any ideas or issues with their replacement drive unit?
